Dr. Barnett,

Hello, sir.  I'm a second year "junior" at Penn State University
studying international politics and history with the hopes of going to
law school and/or graduate school.

I discovered your work last year when I was surfing the Web late one
night in my dorm and came across your New Rule Set page at the Naval War
College.  I read your essay in Esquire and the "American way of war"
guidelines and immediately I was able to grasp what the war in Iraq was
really all about, along with the greater war on terrorism.  I know
you've probably heard this a million times now, but your thinking is
brilliant and it offers a lot of perspective which has been sorely
lacking in the on-going debate about the war in Iraq, missing WMDs, and
the 9/11 hearings.

I just bought your book today, and so far it's fascinating.  I hope some
of my professors discover it and make it required readings for their
courses.  I wish you all the best, and thank you for articulating the
most revolutionary - and necessary - ideas of our age.

Sincerely,

Matthew Valkovic

And I blog, too.
