Written for a good friend
on the eve of her wedding
I knew my old path,
And we go now, forever
As songs unbroken by the silence.
Please treat the distance I
have traveled alone
Before you, before us,
With care.
It is the me that I want you
to know well,
Please count our steps forward
As blessings from God.
Rhyme me a river to follow
alongside our road,
The waters will fill our hearts
And quench our unspoken thirst.
The river cannot dry away,
It will be filled with appreciation
And love.
