Selling the PNM--Day 3 of Tour (post script)

cool experience and more good learning

Hanging out for last night at Washington Terrace Hotel in DC. Will miss the chef and the room service. Will miss the minibar. Will miss the Tempur-Pedic space-age NASA-invented high-tech foam mattress (we're buying one soon, I guarantee it--it's really that good!).

Did the Jim Bohannon Show on Westwood One at CBS studio at 10pm tonight. Got calls from all over US and one from Guam. Hour went fast. Bohannon really runs the show more than most hosts, which is okay once you get used to that rule set. Guy is plenty smart and had read the book pretty carefully, so you don't mind him talking almost as much as you because he does such a great job of summarizing and thus selling the book.

Good lesson for me: each host is different in terms of control. Once you figure them out though, you work within that rule set and things go awfully smoothly because these people are professional public speakers--like me. So while I was a little taken aback from his more controlling style at first, by the time we taped a five-minute interview for his morning show (right after we finished the live 1-hour show), I was really sorry to see it end, we were meshing so smoothly at that point.

So all in all a cool experience and more good learning of how this game is played.

Up early to fly to NYC. Gonna catch the later showing of Dennis Miller on CNBC at midnight before I crash. Just too weird to pass up, even though I don't like watching myself so much. Like some movie stars, I prefer to maintain the illusion in my mind's eye vice being confronted with the reality of the tape.

So endeth day 3 . . .
