Line 'em up

ARTICLE: China Appoints 'Pro-U.S.' Ambassador to North Korea, Dong-A Ilbo (South Korea), September 9, 2006.
China sends a strong signal here, by appointing a non-diplomat Americanophile to the Pyongyang post. All this means is that Beijing looks ahead and sees the obvious reality that a solution set eventually comes to the Korean peninsula. Clearly, it's better for Beijing to be fully ready--and fully staffed--for the scenario endpoint.

Wow.

Excellent news!

China's not just seeing the writing on the wall. They're writing on the wall. In big, bright, spray-tag capitals.

I hope we can read their tag.

J. Ragland - What an interesting thought. Why not ask? Try calling the State Department switchboard and ask for the N. Korea desk. Let us all know what they say. If you're not interested, I might take that up. It might make a good 'return' article for my blog.
