ARTICLE: Rising to a New Generation of Global Challenges, By Mitt Romney, Foreign Affairs, July/August 2007
Another prez candidate asking for his Department of Everything Else.
Romney is totally solutions-based. I don't think he can win the nom, but you'd have to consider him as a totally do-something Veep.
Anyway, doesn't sound like I need to brief him, despite the efforts of several go-betweens.
Thanks to Nathan Brown for sending this.

Dr. Barnett, Don't write Romney off yet! Because he is so solutions oriented I'm sure he has thought out this campaign very clearly. And so far things seem to be going according to plan. McCain is about to self destruct. Rudy will have as much trouble with this social positions as Mitt will with his Mormonism. And Thompson (Fred, that is) simply does not have the stomach for a long campaign. Nobody gets drafted to be president anymore. And he is insisting on being asked. Hugh Hewitt is right on Thompson. His support will come from those McCain supporters who want a mulligan. Anyway. I posted over on Mitt's sons's blog that I thought you two should get together. Sparks would really fly when your two clear minds meet.
