Freedom increasingly defined as access to technology

ARTICLE: Censorship 'changes face of net', BBC News, 6 June 2007

If FDR was alive, it would make his top four in "freedoms."

Thanks to Brad B. for sending this.

What should an essential list of freedoms be now for the 21st century?

Roosevelt had: 1) Freedom of speech and expression, 2) Freedom of Religion, 3) Freedom from want 4) Freedom from fear.

Your are suggesting a fifth as "Freedom of Access to Technology".

How about a number 6 as "Freedom to Own Property and Engage in Commerce".

Any others?

1 and 5 can be combined into a single freedom: The freedom to give, and receive, information. The internet is just one source of that information.
