We're off to see the Wizard

Tom's colleague, Shane Deichman, who works for Enterra on IATGR, has recently started his own weblog (finally ;-): Wizards of Oz.

Today's post features a Development-in-a-Box-type project called Hexayurt by Vinay Gupta, who sometimes comments here.

Welcome to the blogroll, Shane.

Hey Tom, thanks for the mention. I think that the "Networked Domestic Disaster Response" page might be of interest to some of your readers. It touches on a lot of the themes about resilience that come up here, albeit from a very different angle :)

Yay Shane!

Well that's nice. I read Toms blog daily and was thinking he was linking us to another thoughtful blog. Then when I check it out, I see it's first launch leads off with yet another cartoon of "Those terrorist loving Democrats"!!!
Don't you have Rush and Bill O' for that?

When looking for workable solutions to this horrendously bungled republican debacle, I find it puzzling that they evidently believe the best strategy for building support for their proposals is to demonize half of the American people! Do we really need MORE Ann Coulter psychosis injected into the discussion?

did you read anything over there, Husker, or were you just looking at the pictures?

did you read anything over there, Husker, or were you just looking at the pictures? per shane.

I read everything from the top to that cartoon.
I don't waste my time with ann coulter think-alikes.
I was hoping you might address my POINT which is that demonizing others isn't helpful to your cause. But judging from your "only looking at the pictures" comeback... you've validated my point. I won't waste anymore of toms time approving my responses to you.

actually Husker, that comment was per *Sean*.

i asked because it's obvious to me from reading that Shane is not a Coulter think-alike.

Shane here (not Sean).

For (Corn?)HuskerInLA: OK, you don't like the 'toon. What about Kilcullen's commentary on counterinsurgency in that same post? Or have you written 'the surge' off with the same aplomb with which you dismissed Oz?

Dan Hare wrote in to also mention Cal-Earth for emergency shelters.
