Thanks for linking to CPT Gwinn's post. He provides a first-person account - with useful insights, observations and recommendations - from a boots on the ground perpective.

It is indeed worth reading, although the proposed solutions strike me as infeasible. Training up PFCs and SSGs to be part-time civil affairs and psyops types, while maintaining full proficiency in their primary MOS, isn't exactly easy.
