Thanks again. Very helpful. Note that Kagan's "Dangerous Nation" is actually the first of three parts of a diplomatic history of the US. Treats the historic expansion of US borders as a foreign policy issue rejecting the common theme that it was largely internal development.
As always I stand to be corrected if wrong. I did enjoy the book and look forward to reading the others.

Note that Lomborg has published a couple of follow-ups to The Skeptical Environmentalist, including Global Crises, Global Solutions and Cool It: The Skeptical Environmentalist's Guide to Global Warming.

I used Global Problems, Global Solutions extensively in BFA and have Cool It teed up for next book.
Still, his original is required reading to understand the later stuff, I would argue.
Roy's Secularism versus Islam is a great book, but better to start with the original, like reading PNM first before BFA.

This would be worth pinning at a permanent link somewhere on the site... had to search for this to dig it up and have been wondering about a list of such books for several months. Maybe on the main site Tom could list this with a sentence or two describing the books and why he listed them? Either way, thank you for posting this Tom/Sean.

Assuming you had one year to prep for Naval War College of Command and Staff....would you amend or append this list? I've looked at the "Naval Reading List"(or whatever they call it) and have hit most of it in leisure reading over the years.
I'd like the TPMB revised Naval War College reading list if you have a sec to indulge me.
