Tom's brother, Andy, writes to say:
Librarything is a website where people can list the books they own and assign tags. The combined tags generate a folksonomy, an informal version of something like the Library of Congress subject headings. In your case, they let you know what subject readers would assign to your books. You can also see what other books they assign those headings to - which should be similar books. If they understood your book, if they understand how to assign subjects and if those subjects don't duplicate each other. Many major blog sites have volunteer "tag police" who combine and weed out unuseful tags (USA, U.S.A., United States, America). I see the tags such as living room, oversized, tbr [to be read], unread and historical fiction assigned, but the main ones look good.
I notice that regular commenter Nathan M has Tom listed as a favorite author. Maybe he's the one who helped fill out the profile...

I did add some information, but the tags are from all the LibraryThing members who've added Tom's books and assigned tags to them. If you hit the "show numbers" link, it will display how many times people have applied which tags, aggregated from all the books. Right now, LibraryThing members have listed 181 copies of PNM and 50 of BFA.
As far as LibraryThing goes, it's one of the very best "Web2.0" sites, and a great way to track your books. I could go on and on about it, but the best thing would be to just try it, it's free for the first 200 books you add. Check it out here.
