Back in the writing saddle

Coming off nasty virus that culminated in long sweaty night of chills (who knows?), I recover nicely today to churn out 7,896 words of some really decent text.

Felt like a great warm-up for the book.

Did most of it on my new MacBook laptop, which Vonne had to pick up for me Sunday after the old iBook died on the Cairo trip (one too many bumps after 22 months of very intense usage, but since so many bits and pieces had broken off by then, it seems natural enough that its time had come). The new MacBook seems tougher and it's definitely wider. Keyboard felt a bit strange at first, but after a couple hours I couldn't tell any difference.

Since leaving the Naval War College, this is the 5th Mac I've bought (3 laptops in succession and two large iMacs for my home office and the masses (who need to stay the hell out of my home office more when I'm gone!).

Life goes on, sad enough to say.

Between Mrs. Z and myself, we have two PCs, a brand new, top of the line Mac and a laptop. Kids have their own designated PC on wireless connection which they constantly take down with user-errors - which is why they have their own :O)

Life is not sad when you have a Mac.
