Thanks for posting this. It was a great read. To anyone thinking about reading it, do yourself a favor and do so. This isn't someone simply trying to counter the Right's rhetoric on the NIE with his own rhetoric. Rather, Tanji shows you how the "sausage is made", so to speak, in making intelligence assessments.

Reminds me of a section in PNM where you talk about how policy and strategy at the Pentagon isn't partition. Yeah, it may get "political" in that some people have different world views, but there is no time for Rep. vs. Dem BS. The same goes for your work in general which is why I trust it so much.
