I would think that the State Department needs military advisors as much as the Defence Department needs foreign policy advisors.

This may be old news, but when Bono met with Gates recently, Gates communicated how Bono, "had liked a lot what (Gates) said about also strengthening the non-military side of the U.S. face abroad" in his K-State speech. This was an exciting moment because it signaled that both the Secretary of Defense and a legend of rock both are believers in the main thrust of your work. I think this is a testament to the strength of the sysadmin and leviathan concept. If an idea can bridge the gap between Gates and Bono, it should be able to make a connection to almost anyone.
