Late start because of bad night sleeping.
Wrote 4300-plus words, taking me through second section and, as I realized, 500 words into the third section (sometimes if you spend too much effort trying to write yourself out of one section, you end up writing the intro to the next one, as I did here).
Dealt with global warming as a candidate grand strategic issue in this section without making any judgments on details (carbon tax or cap-and-trade?). Expect that to come later in chapter, but admit it will be a bit of a toss off in that I don't think anyone's looking to me to explain global warming responses, but rather to contextualize the effort within a logical grand strategy. Discipline, I find, is key to writing this stuff. You have to keep asking yourself: does anyone really need my opinion on that detail? If not, then why make the call?
Since I wrote 2k yesterday and 4k today, expect to crank a bigger 6k tomorrow.
Going back and forth with Neil Nyren on title. Getting closer. First book was 11 word title (main and sub together) and second a mere 7. Expect this one to end up nine.
Total manuscript now stands at 162,242. Chapter now at 6,303. I expect it will end up being 15-16k.
