The Chinese are everywhere!

ARTICLE: Palestinian businesses look east to China, By Wafa Amr, Reuters, Apr 1, 2008

Add Palestine to the long list of troubled states where we find Chinese business interests on the back side--our liability-limiting partner whether we recognize it or not.

Unless, of course, you believe diplomatic plans sans economic development work whatsoever.

One way this could help the peace process: according to the article, Israeli restrictions make it harder for Palestinian firms to compete with their Chinese rivals. This gives those Palestinians who AREN'T benefiting from the China trade (or who's benefits are diluted by unemployment) a healthy incentive to seek peace.
